Research Areas

NR carries out applied research within statistics and information and communication technology and which depends on the availability of sources of funding. Subject to financial conditions, our aim is to achieve the highest academic standards. Research at NR has international impact with both international projects and academic contacts.

Research at NR is aimed at being used and visible. It is inspiring that our research is in use by many of our clients. The fact that someone is willing to pay for the research is an indication of its importance. NR participates in basic research, but the main focus is on applied research.

The basic funding from the Research Council of Norway is spent in strengthening our research areas. We also have close contacts with the University of Oslo and other universities in Norway and abroad.
