Information & Communication Technology Research
Department of Applied Research in Information Technology (DART)
The Department of Applied Research in Information Technology at the Norwegian Computing Center offers applied research within smart information systems, multimedia, information security, universal design, and e-inclusion. Multimodality is a key strategy to usable data services, and we participate in projects handling multiple platforms including mobile devices, PCs, and digital television. Our researchers have high scientific competence and broad industry experience. In addition to research our services cover concept studies, analysis, consultancy, prototyping, training, development, and evaluation.
Current project partners include Norwegian industries such as ABB, Computas, BBS, DNV, SuperOffice, Linpro, and BlueGarden. We further cooperate with public bodies such as the Norwegian Tax Authority, Brønnøysundregistrene, Ministry of Government Administration and Reform, and the National Archival Services of Norway. International partners include Telefonica I&D, HP R&D, Telvent, CSI-Piemonte, Sheffield City County, and Brunel University. Our projects are typically financed by industry and public bodies, the Research Council of Norway, the EU Framework Program, and ITEA.
