Objectives

Through the MIR project a prototype system for automatic co-registration of time series of satellite images has been developed. The objective has been to develop a system that simplies the task of image registration by providing a solutiion which automatically adjusts the processing to the characteristics of the image. Both the regions of the image to be used for the co-registration and the registration algorithm to be used for each region are automatically selected. The solution is intended for co-registration of most types of homogeneous time series as it is general and able to handle images from different sensors, with different contents and acquired under different circumstances.
