Movies by Arthur “Davinci” Lewis

His camera angles and sense of drama are simply the best.

His trademark is “authentic” camera movement. It is hard work but gives a very nice atmosphere – we appreciate your effort.

.

IL2FB_NEW (WMW codec) 141Mb. Large scenes, numerous airplanes, but jerky playback

Salvation (WMW codec) 218Mb. 13 minutes of serious dogfights from a coop mission near Yalta. Great illustration of how IL2 appears from cockpit and external views.

Essentials for technical quality

  • To get a fluid motion in the film, record at 15fps at half speed. Then, when cutting the movie, increase the speed to normal to obtain 30fps. That is simply how it should be done. Thanks for the trick Arthur.
  • Never use manual panning using the mouse or hat-switches. In Salvation there is a lot of panning from inside the cockpit but this is probably done using a device coupled to the head.
  • The movies should be recorded at 640x480.
